Fiction Book Titles I'm Really Excited About Reading

There's nothing quite like taking an extended break from a hobby you like, and then going back to it later. It's a sort of homecoming, and it makes you really appreciate the hobby all over again. My break from reading was necessary, my brain had other things to work through, but coming back to the world of reading and jumping right back into it has been amazing!

I'll assemble another post about my newest books that I've read, but for this post I just wanted to talk about some upcoming books that I'm excited about. I'm not sure if/when I'll get to read them anytime soon, but I definitely will try to read them at some point in the future.

So, without further ado, here are the books I'm looking forward to reading:

1. Amari and the Great Game by B. B. Alston - This is the second installment in the Amari series. If you haven't read Amari and the Night Brothers yet, you should get on it. It's such a wonderful book, and I'm really looking forward to the second one. To be honest, I'm having trouble deciding whether to jump into the second book, or re-read the first one because it was just so enjoyable.

2. Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend - Again, the is the second installment in the series about Morrigan Crow. If this is the first time you're hearing of the series, just know that if Harry Potter is your style, you'll probably enjoy this series. You'll want to start with the first book, Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow. You'll be plunged into a unique and zany world with delightful characters.

3. The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas - This will be the first book I've ever read from Aiden Thomas, so I have no idea what to expect. The premise seems a bit dark, but I love mythology and stories with their own pantheons. It'll be interesting to see how the story is written, and I'm looking forward to discovering a new author to add to my ever-growing "favorite authors" list.

4. Soul of the Deep by Natasha Bowen - The sequel to book one, Skin of the Sea, is estimated to hit shelves this September 27, 2022. It's available for pre-order right now if you click the Soul of the Deep title. It'll take you the Barnes and Noble page where you can pre-order it. Keep in mind that sometimes things happen which cause release dates to be pushed further out, but I know I'd rather have people take the amount of time they need than try to rush something to shelves that may be beneath their standards. I'm happy to wait, a good book is always worth the wait. I wrote a little bit about Skin of the Sea in a past blog post: "Recent Fiction Finds". You can check it out by clicking that link if you want more details on the first book of the series.

Are there any upcoming titles you're looking forward to reading? Let me know in the comments if you feel like sharing that excitement about some new fiction/sci-fi/fantasy titles. Any genre is also fine to let me know about, but since this is a fiction blog, just make sure to let us know if it doesn't fall into those categories in case others also want to check out the title. I just want everyone to know the proper expectations to have when they're picking up a new book.

Anywho, hope you have a great rest of the week, it's almost Friday!
